Parkerize.

Post by Zvarnedoe »

I have a 1894 32-20 marlin serial# 163725. It has a parkerize finish. Dad bought late 50’s early 60’s. With a Winchester 73. Serial number of my gun makes it pre 1900. Anybody got an idea of how it might have been parkerized
Thanks

Definitely wasn't done at Marlin! And likely done by some gunsmith who had the equipment to parkerize military firearms, and someone wanted a cheap finish, instead of a correct finish. Shame to have that happen to a fine old Marlin.
