weapon information

Post by Whitey67 »

I have a Marlin Model 39! The only markings that i see on it are the Model 39 behind the trigger! I also noticed that when i pulled the Lever down that there is an HS stamped plus there is a star or maybe a 4 but there is also a 2 stamped beside it! I am trying to get information about maybe the manufacture date and possible value! Any help would be appreciated!

Whitey67;

A Model 39 with the HS serial number prefix would have been made sometime between 1933 and 1939. Without more information regarding the serial number, that is as close as we will get for now.
Value of any antique firearm is dictated by the amount and condition of the remaining original factory finish on the wood and metal. Without knowing these conditions, it is not possible to give an accurate estimation of value.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
