Post by mykinmich »

Mykinmich;

The fact that your rifle is a .30 WCF, also known as the .30-30 caliber means your gun was not made in 1884. The .30-30 cartridge did not come out until early 1895, so your gun was made after that.
Since you have a Marlin rifle in .30-30 with a 4 digit serial number means you have a Model '93 ( not Model 1893, unless you left of a letter prefix to the serial number ), which did not come out until after 1921. The serial number will be located under the lever and the model marking will be on the upper tang, behind the hammer.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

I as well have a Marlin 30-30 lever action with serial number 6781. All the research (on the Marlin website) i have done says that it was manufactured in 1884, but yet you say that Marlin did not introduce 30-30 until 1894, so how can this be? Marlin 36-A serial number 6781 30-30 lever action. Please help me understand this
