I have a Marlin 39A Golden that is a carbine model, but it has a pistol grip, and not the straight grip of the Mountie version.
Based on the serial number it was manufactured in 1969 and the serial number itself is 1xxx, which seems to be quite low.
It has an oiled stock.
I am trying to determine if this version is particularly collectible, but I haven't found one quite like it in "the blue book" nor have I seen pictures of one that is similar online.
The other carbines I have seen all seem to have the straight stock.
If anyone has insights on this particular model I'd sure appreciate hearing them.
Any questions related to guns
