Marlin 19 which grade A,B,C,D
I have just purchased a Marlin 19 but I do not know how to tell the difference as to which grade it is the gun has a decent walnut with checkered forearm and stock the recoil pad is not original. All of my books show grades A, B, C, D, I am sure it is not a grade A Any responce will be greatly appreciated Thanks Dean

Dean Evans;
The four grades in simple terms are as follows:
A Grade Standard gun with 30 inch barrel and plain walnut stocks
B Grade Checkered stock and forearm with Special Smokeless Steel barrel
C Grade Checkered fancy walnut stock and forearm, Special Smokeless Steel barrel, factory engraved receiver
D Grade Fancy Checkering on circassian walnut stock and forearm, Damascus barrel, more elaborate factory engraved receiver with gold plated trigger and screws
I hope this helps.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
