1889 44w

Post by baileybill »

I've got a Marlin 44w (patented oct 11,1887-apr 02,1889) serial # 67669 = 1892....full tube octagon barrel(24")....lever action 44-40
It has several issues(trigger/hammer) and split stock at the butt plate
before I start repair I would like to better understand the weapon
does anyone have a parts list(diagram) of the 1889 (would like to know what the parts are called)
any parts available and where
any disassemble manuals

Bailleybill;

Numrich Gun Parts Corporation as a parts diagram on their site (www.e-gunparts.com or www.gunpartscorp.com) but very few parts avaialble. The Model 1889 was discontinued in 1895, so any parts will be hard to find. Look at e-Bay, Gun Broker and Auction Arms for parts. Another place is Bob's Gun Parts (www.gun-parts.com)
Good luck........
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.
