VIntage Pistol grip FOREND

Post by Marks_21 »

I bought a Model 39 22 rimfire circa 1920s. It is factory threaded for a silencer and has a pistol grip forend. the forend looks too right to be wrong. The contours at both ends of the forend are proper and the wood is a direct match for the buttstock in both color and condition, however in the middle of the forend is a Thompson sub machine gun-esque finger grooved bulge. I will post pictures shortly. Any chance this is an original piece? I know there are always severe nay-sayers who doubt everything, but I really think much of it looks proper.
