New screws for vintage Marlins

Post by palabra »

Several years ago I bought some NOS receiver screws for 1889, 1893 model Marlins. They were either NOS or perfectly matching new manufacture. I cannot find the name and email for the man selling them. Can anyone help with a source for screws for the receiver? I have several high grade deluxes with several screws buggered up that I want to replace. Any help? Thanks.

Jerry;

You would be referring to Larry Osbourn that ran the Lever Action Rifle Company. He also produced the reproduction Hepburn receiver sight. I saw Larry this past weekend at the Denver show, and he has just retired from his "day" job, and is setting up his new shop to start reproducing screws again. I told him to post a notice on this site when he is up and running, so watch for his notice.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

That's great news Rick.
I bought from him several years ago but haven't in the last 8 or 10 years because he was not available due to his job (I believe).
His stuff was always top quality. Glad to hear he's soon back in business.

Nobody made replacement screws of the fit and finish that Larry sold. Haven't seen Larry since he moved from my local area to Idaho. Great to hear he's getting back into the Marlin screw business now that he's retired!
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
