I am trying to confirm the model, year and calibre of this rifle. With recent posts and info on the web I believe it to be a Ballard No. 5 Pacific which may be a .40-63 calibre. It has a 5 digit serial number and in the lower half of the 5 digit spectrum. Would anyone have any info on this model or confirm the model? Other markings are what appear to read "B. M. MARLIN. NEW-HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A" and under these markings it reads "BALLARD'S. PATENT. NOV. 5. 1861."

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
