Can anyone help me with a few question I have on this letter opener. The blade is signed on one side "Paul A Henckel, Solingen. The other side is stamped SRD German. Thanks in advance for all the help.

1== How old is this ?

2== What is the appx value on an item like this?

3== Any other info would be greatly appreicated.

Sage94;

The Marlin letter openers are a scarce item and quite desirable item to Marlin collectors. These apparently were made about 1908 to 1915 era. The "The Sign of a Marlin" logo was used during that period of time.
I see some pitting on the blade of the opener, which will hurt the value a little, but the last one I saw on eBay brought around $275.00 as I remember, and it was a very nice one. Yours might be worth a little less due to the pitting, but not all that much. I am sure any collector that wants one and does not have one would be interested in it if you were to offer it for sale.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Gunrunner.

Appreciate all the info.

The blade is in very good condition with very little pitting. Must be the way the photo was taken.
