Trying to help my best friends widow sell a Marlin Model 1894 38-40 circa 1901. I could use some input as to what the estimated value is and where is the site to sell the gun? Your input would be most appreciated.

I suggest you go to gunbroker.com. Search for closed and sold auctions for Marlin 1894 standard rifle. look for ones in similiar condition and then see what they sold for. That will help you determine what the market is really paying for a Marlin such as yours. Remember condition and originality are everything.
