Recently received a 1888 lever action with octogonal barrel in pretty good shape. The owner is interested in selling the rifle but don't know the value as of yet. I would appreciate it if anyone could educate me some on this. I know it's hard to put a value on something that you can't see but a rough ballpark would be helpful. Thanks

No one can nail it down without photos! It can range from a brown 32cal 6-700 to high condition 44 for $5000. I saw a very high cond. 44 standard 24" oct. barrel go for over $5000
