Original 1894 38-55 Shooter

Post by mcdougmd »

I have an original Model 1894 S/N 1063XX caiber 38-55. Per the S/N lookup it was manufactured in 1894. Rifling is good, action is tight, some pitting of the metal but not serious. Wood is good and original, nice dark walnut, has a nick or two as would be expected. Missing the metal buttplate, everything else is there. I have not fired the rifle but see no reason why it would not fire relaibly and fairly accurately given the good condition of the rifling. This is for sale to a serious buyer, no lowballs please. Please email for photos mmcdougald@tdhco.com or call at 229-224-0730.

I suspect you have a Model 1893. The 1894 was never chambered in 38-55. The action is too short
for that cartridge.
