.22 limited edition great american game series

Post by TnC17 »

Hello,

I am really hoping that someone here can help me.

My brother-in law was in a pinch for money and sold me a Marlin .22 semi-auto....here's the problem I cannot find a model number on the gun, what I think is a model number, I can find no listing for. I will list everything but, the serial number

.22 Cal semi auto

what appears to a brass trigger

engraved on barrel LIMITED EDITION WESTPOINT MOD, GA22-CAL.22 L. R. ONLY

THE MARLIN FIREARMS COMPANY.

On the buttstock is a brass looking medallion with a squirell in the center and these words surrounding it

LIMITED EDITION GREAT AMERICAN GAMESERIES

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Courtney
Phillip

Phillip;

The Great American Game Series was made by Marlin for Cotter & Company of Chicago, Illinois. C&Co. was a True Value hardware store and there were several different brass medallions used. Your rifle with the fox was made in 1986/1987 and there were 9,465 guns made for C&Co. Courtney's rifle with the squirrel was made in 1983 and there were 4,955 of that series made.
I hope this helps.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Guns made with a rabbit medallion were made in 1984 with a production number of 3,000.
I hope this helps.

I have a marlin limited westpoint GA22 with broken stock. Will the Marlin model 60 stock work as replacement? if no, what Marlin stock will?

Marlinguns2;

According to Brophy, the GA22 was based on the Marlin/Glenfield Model 75C, which has a different stock thant the Model 60. The actions may be similar and the stocks may interchange, but you would need to do some checking around about that. Look at Numrich Gun Parts Corporation for these two models, and compare all the stock numbers they list for a stock for each model. If all the numbers are the same, then they should interchange.
Good luck...
