I'm trying to find a market value range for my Marlin Golden 39A Mountie and prices are all over the place. I collect military firearms and really don't know enough about the details on these commercial rifles. I've found that this one was made in 1959("S" prefix), has the gold plated trigger, front sight, and lettering on barrel. It is "JM" marked and has a "JM" marked hammer 'extender', for lack of a better term. The finish is original and in excellent condition. This one has a scope base attached to the top and came with scope rings and this very nice leather sling.

What's a rifle like this worth in today's market?

I have a bunch of photos, but they were too large to post, even after reducing size. Not sure why they won't post.

That is a nice little Marlin. I know what you mean about the prices all over the place. I would rather that the scope base not be installed. They generally leave a "marred " spot upon removal. Also, the front sight hood has been removed. I am in NC, and in my area, I would see this rifle priced between $600-$700. I am not claiming to be an expert, but I do like these Mounties. Are you looking to sell? If so, please let me know. 336-877-6675
