Model 81 with MicroGroove

I just purchased a very used model 81 (no suffix) the barrel is clearly marked MicroGroove.
My understanding is that the Model 81 was only produced in 1935-37 and MicroGroove was not introduced until 1953.
I have seen reference to Model 81's with suffixes as C, DL, G and others but mine does not have anything after the 81.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I have.
