Need help on model 1889

Post by Capperguys »

I hope someone can satisfy my curosity. I have a model 1889 lever action marlin serial number 96350 with a 20 in barrel. Since so many of them were cut down thru the years. Could someone look this up and see what the barrel length was when it left the factory in 1894. Thanks

Jim;

Yep, it has been cut down. Your .32-20 caliber Model 1889 left the factory in early 1894 with a 26 inch octagon barrel.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
