Age of Gun

Post by dnbradl »

I inherited a Revelation Moel 150 Western Auto Supply 22 LR Rifle, Serial Number 69238545.I would like to know when the rifle was made and how much it is worth. It is in excellent shape and is in a soft leather zip up case.

This model cross references to the Marlin model 49, and by your serial number it was produced in 1969. Condition is critical to assigning value; when new this rifle was likely in the 49.95-54.95 range (original Marlin 49 being 59.95). Without pictures for a more accurate estimate, you could guess a range of 100 +/- 50 would cover poor to excellent condition. You can search on the gun auction sites for comparison and what others have obtained on sale. It is not rare, nor a highly sought after collectible in my opinion. Cherish and shoot it as a nice remembrance and personally meaningful inheritance! And don't store within the case to prevent moisture buildup and rusting from occurring...
