I have a 1965 Marlin 336 R.C. How can you tell if it is a "Marauder"?

those are key characteristics but I missed the obvious - the Marauder was only made in 1963-4! sorry, a 1965 serial code is likely NOT an original Marauder...

I have a 1870 - model 336 R.C. cal. 30 - 30 that is stamped US NAVY SS# 134 with an AA serial #. I have not been able to find anything on the internet about this rifle. Does anyone know if this was maybe indeed US NAVY issued?

Where do I measure from? From end of barrel to where? Why would anyone fake such a thing? Was a Marauder a Navy issued gun? Could maybe it have some parts switched? Looks factory engraved. Wil send pic soon
