Marlin 1893 model 32 40
I have a 1893 Model Marlin, serial number 115244. Can you tell me what year it was made and the approximate value would be. Other than a very small (what appears to be) burn, 1/4 inch by 3/4 inch above the lever, next to the barrel, is in excellent condition. No scratches, beautiful blueing, etc. Thanks, Mike

Oldguns.net indicates 1895 but Regnier has better information.
Value is what someone will pay. Check the values at Gunbroker.com. Some sellers want $1500 and more but the only 1893s with bids are under $500.
Three years ago I sold an excellent 1893 in 32-40 for $1400 but prices probably could not approach that now.
