Gunrunner, Very interesting that it was sent from the factory as a 32-20. It is now a 24” octagon 25-20 with no visible signs that it had ever been re-barreled. If only it could tell it’s own story! Just picked up a fairly nice 39 with an HS prefix. The actual sn has a blank in the second space. Don’t know if it is from the lever rubbing out the digit or if it was stamped that way. Just recently picked up a nice Model 1888 in 32 WCF. I just assumed (probably wrongly) that it was 32-20, but could it be 32-40? I have some loaded 32-20 but haven’t fired the rifle yet, been working on cleaning up the bore a bit. Were the 32-40’s marked as such or is “32 WCF” 32-20? Am new to the M...
