Year of manufacture by serial number?
Does anyone have a book that can tell the year my #2 sporting rifle was made? I guess they started in 1876-1889 but I would like to narrow it down. Serial on my rifle #22XXX. Thanks for any info!

Hi guys been awhile since i been to visit. Got a question I'm looking for a peep tang mounted sight for my #2 Marlin Balard rifle. I know there would be a hard time getting an original. I see there are a couple of places to get a good replica any sugestions. Thanks Terry

.32 colt long ammo reloading?
Are the bullets available if one has the brass? And what type of reloading equipment does one need that is inexspense and will do the job? Lee loading is in WI. Where I'm at. Thanks Terry

Thanks for the help and replies again. Just amazes me on how quiet the rifle is. Never shot a rifle before with such little report and no recoil, :shock: except my pellet gun :lol: . Now to keep my eyes open for more 32 long colt have just under two hundred rounds, but still should have some on hand...

Shot my #2 Ballard sporting rifle today :D First time the rifle been shot for many decades. I shot five rounds, shooting at 60 yards. I was shooting at a 8 inch shoot and see target. Thanks for the replies on the extraction problem and reverseing the firing pin Reversed the pin with no problem and cleaned the chamber better, making extracting the shell easier, now just have to go out and shoot the old rifle, its been silent for many moons Thanks again for the help

Ballard #2 sports reverseable fireing pin Question.
Went to shoot my old ballard today, click. I see my rifle is set for rim fire, nice dent above the primer on the 32. cal long shell. Is there much to change the position of the firing pin to shoot center fire? Thanks! Terry

Have yet to shoot my #2 Ballard rifle sinse i had lever fixed. My question is when i do stick a live round in the chamber, it goes in fine and the breech closes with ease, but when i open lever it takes a little effort, but shell extracter does back out the shell ok, acts like it sticks, is that nat...

Sight elevator for #2 Sporting?
Looking to get a sight elevator for my rifle, any one have a outlet for one . I just had the lever fixed by Ballard out west, probally should of had them put one on! Maybe it shoots good without one. I will see soon, but just in case, i should get one. Thanks!!

Like my military rifles for the heck of it i tryed the bullet test for muzzel wear. I noticed on the 32.cal short i purchased, that are manufactured by Winchester. That when i put in muzzel end of barrel that a good portion of bullet sticks out above the crimp on bullet at shell casing a good sign, ...
