Hi friends, a question from the UK. I am looking to buy another Cowboy in .357, everything looks right apart for a 2001 example, apart from the JM stamp. Seller tells me it is "double stamped" ??? Any of you fine chaps ever hear of a Marlin being 'Double stamped ' ? All advice welcome. che...

I bought it. Crisp action and sweet bore.
The wood has been refurb'd, but the metal work seems only to have had rust convertor. Nice even patina.
Just gota find some loads for nice soft lead 170-180 grns ?
Serial number show 1905 thanks to Gunrunner.

thats a great help. A genuine 1905 rifle is very cool. Kinda expensive at £1700, but as its in great original condition, and fine looking...
Any common problems with this model, asked all the obvious questions, condition of bore, any damage etc ?

Hi I am a big fan of Marlins and presently own 7 x 1894's from .357 to 45/70, and that's difficult living in the UK !
