Re: Ballard #3F Fine Gallery Model
The Cody Schoyen is the most accurate .22LR rifle I've ever owned. It's capable of shooting under 1"moa at 100 yds. off my Caldwell Rock if I do my part. I'm not expecting this 3F to be it's equal, just hoping it's close.

Re: Ballard #3F Fine Gallery Model
Very nice Val. Really looks like a keeper now. Thanks. It was a decent looking Ballard before, but just no finish, and I have never been a fan of the very light 24" barrels Marlin used on most #3 and #3F rifles. I own a newer Cody built Ballard with a heavy 30" full round barrel, and love...

Ballard #3F Fine Gallery Model
Had this little 3F for about 30 years and always planned to restore it. It had no finish left, and a bad bore, but nice special order buttstock with checkering and cheekpiece. I sent the barreled action to Al Springer in Moore, Mt. for color case and rust bluing, and Al did his usual great work! I b...

WTB-Marlin Ballard trigger
Probably a longshot since not many Ballard collectors here. But I'm getting my Ballard #3F .22 rifle back soon, but the trigger didn't survive color case hardening. It seems the sear tip had been welded back on and it failed during the CCH process. Like to find a used trigger, and if I can't then I'...

Re: Determining year/model of Ballard
If you don't get it figured out using the link Regnier posted, send me an email through this site and I'll look at picture to see if we can determine which model you have.

Re: Determining year/model of Ballard
With so many Marlin Ballard models and so many Ballard rifles being customized, it's going to take pictures to determine which model it might be, and whether it's still original, or has modifications made.

Re: Marlin 1891
First variations also are easy to spot as they had a side loading gate to load the magazine. 2nd variations were loaded directly into the tubular magazine. Your serial number range should be for 1892 also, unless it shipped later. Without pictures I can't say if your like brand new finish is origina...

Re: Serial numbers
With a serial number that high it should have a rollstamp on the left side of the receiver that reads, "Marlin Firearms Co." as earlier "JM Marlin" marked Ballards stopped around serial range just below 10,000. The highest known Ballard rifles are in the 37,000 range in 1891, so ...

Re: Older Marlin Safety 30/30
No way to narrow it down to a specific year as no records. But because the serial number is under the lever it does give a time frame. I'd need to know what the name rollstamp is on the barrel exactly. But likely it's going to date to just before WWI. Does it have a tang sight that's covering the Mo...

Re: Black powder loads for your levers- 45-70
I use either windage front globes, or Soule type rear vernier sights on all my single shots, but on my old Marlin lever actions I don't use any windage adjustable sights. I simply drift the front sight either way to get them zeroed in and don't change them ever after that. No reason for most shootin...

Re: Need help?
Can you give us the info stamped on the barrel so we are sure which model it is for the year?
Can't give you a value without some very good pictures.

Have you checked Numrich Gun Parts? Or check Ebay also as some parts show there fairly often too.

Re: Marlin 32 special
Hello I have a marlin 32 special given to me few years ago. Was wanting some help identifying what year it is. It’s a model 93 with serial numbers 7531. Your Model '93 was made after WWI, but no records exist for this time period, so in order to narrow it down any further we need much more info! Wh...
