Marlin Model 55-10 Shotgun?????????

Post by miniebullet »

I have a two Marlin Shot guns. The first is the standard Model 55 Goose gun in 12 ga. The second is the Model 55-10, 10 ga. I would like to know how many of these were made? Does anybody out thier have any idea how many were made?
I searched for many years to find the one i have, and have Never seen another. As far as i know they are very rare?
If you have any information on this shotgun, plase let me know. Mine is S.N. 237291XX, a high number for a rare gun?
I simply want to know how many were ever made???? If you know, please let me know. Thanks miniebullet

The 5510 shotgun was made from 1976-1985. An oversized shotgun designed for 3 1/2 inch 10 guage magnum shot shell. Called the Super Goose Gun it will handle shells with two full ounces of no. 2 shot. 34" barell, American Walnut stock till 1983 when they switched to walnut finished hardwood (Birch). Quick detachable sling swivels. Trigger gold plated until 1983, then blued. In 1983 the white line spacer was also removed. Total production numbers 21,825.
