I am new to this forum so I hope I’m in the right place for this question.
I am trying to identify my marlin 4570 model 1895 GS serial number 91806467 to find the date of manufacture and rarity of the rifle. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe the post 2000 serial number makes it a 2009 mfg. date.

I have a Glenfield mod 30a. First two numbers of serial number are 72. 100 minus 72 is 28. How is it possible to be made in 1928?

Eudy57;
That serial number system does not work for a reason. There was about 4 years ( 1969 to 1972 ) where the first 2 digits of the serial number was the year of manufacture. In this case, the first two digits being 72 indicate your gun was made in 1972.
