My turn for 30-30 manufacturing date and type

Post by Coach »

Hello fellow MOs!

One of my favorite toys at grandpa's is now in my hands. Model 336, 30-30. I wanted to confirm the year and 336- version/type if possible please. Serial appears to have some wear on the bottom half of the stamped numbers, but here goes: 69 49308

There is a definite gap/space between the 69 and the last 5 numbers. I presume it is 1969 based off some internet sleuthing, but I'm trusting you for the real answers.

Barrel Print:
The Marlin Firearms Co. New Haven, Conn, U.S.A.
EST. 1870 MICRO-GROOVE BARRELL MOD. 336 CAL. 30-30
There is an "F" stamped on the side of the receiver near the beginning of the forearm, same side as the Scope Mount Dummy Screws.
Opposite side has the "JM" factory stamp at the beginning of the barrell, just past the joining of the receiver and forearm. On the ejection port side.

All I have seen here are supportive and patient enthusiasts!

Thank you all so very much!
