Unknown 1892

Post by Tmiller »

Happy Holidays folks! Looking for help identifying and valuing an 1892. Rifle must be sold due to the settling of an estate. Here’s what I know. Rifle is an 1892 Safety Model chambered in 32 Rimfire. Takedown model. According to the serial number it was manufactured in 1902. Rifle is in VERY good condition. Here’s where things get different. Both the stock and the forearm are etched symmetrically on both sides. The most prominent image is a large eagle on the stock. The rest of the images are just random patterns. Also has an 1892 Indian head penny embedded on the right side of the stock. I’ve been searching images for days and haven’t found a rifle like this. Special order? Possibly engraved after purchase? I’ll post pics if someone tells me how. Any information would be appreciated!

As everyone will tell you without pictures no one can appraise your rifle. Based on the description of the artwork and Penny added I can assure you it was not factory done. You must use a third party to post photos. Either Photobucket or Imgur.
