Model 93 question, Can someone tell me if I'm close to the right year?

Post by Northfork69 »

I have a Model 93 30-30. After reading through the informative posts on this message board, I believe I may have figured out what year it was manufactured. Here is the key information.

Model 93 with star
Corporation marked barrel
Bullseye Stock
Serial number 717 on lower tang under lever

My guess is 1922. Am I close???

Northfork69;

With the information given, you are as about as close as we can get. There are no records after December of 1906, but research has show that certain features can be pinned down to various dates.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.

Would it be safe to say its most likely in the 1920's?

Close maybe. The star and Corporation markings will put it past 1920 I believe. Does it happen to have the "bullseye" in the bottom of the buttstock about 3" ahead of the buttplate?
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
