I have acquired a Marlin 336 in 35 Rem and was wondering about age. The barrel has a JM stamp. the seral # is U35858.
any info would be greatly appreciated

The"U" prefix to the serial number indicates that your Marlin Model 336 was manufactured between August of 1960 to August of 1961.
