Marlin Firearms Collectors Association

Just inherited a 39A, having a difficult time figuring out what year it was made. Any help would be appreciated.

The barrel doesn’t have a serial number, it’s stamped, “The Marlin Firearms Co -MODEL 39-A”, and under the lever is stamped “4068”

I'm pretty new here myself, so reluctant to give you any advice on the year.
