I picked up a Model 49 -12 ga. today at the gun store after I saw it yesterday ,I decided to pick it up-$ 100.00 .It seems to have had rough use ,but it's in good mechanical condition. The wood forearm has been replaced by a knured steel one[any body got a wood one?].
What really caught my eye was the daimond imbedded in the bottom of the pistol grip! What do you think?Shootrj2003

I do not know for sure who but someone does make the early two screw forends for Marlin pump shotguns. I ahve seen on a gun that the buttstock was rough but the forend looked brand new. If anyone knows of a supplier I would love to know because I have two or three that have been in pretty bad shape that I ahce repaired to isable condition. It would be nice to be able to buy new wood.
shootrj2003, Model 49 guns are not too numerous so at $100 you did not do too bad.

I v'e been searching all over for fore arms, no luck. But, it doesn't look hard to make-sooo!$79.00 for a butt stock new made ,but I did not remember the maker on-line.They made them I think 2 years for gifts to stock buyers only-1928-1930.Parts are there but a lot of searching is needed.shootrj2003
