Is ther a place where I can find out if this shotgun is of any value to me or anyone else. It has a pat.pnd. date of 6/2/1896, sr # 151B2 thanks, joe

Joe,

Well..... A LITTLE more information would be helpful here. Since you give only a patent date, that leads me to believe there is no model # on the tang. That narrows the possibilities down some, but there were more than one shotgun that lacked the model designation on the tang. Also, do not rely on the barrel's serial number as they will never match the frame.

There were also more than one patent date on all the shotguns, so only one doesn't do as much good as you might hope.

Records were not kept on Marlin shotgun serial numbers.

Is the shotgun of value to anyone? The answer is entirely dependant upon condition. All the older guns can have good value if in unaltered, safe shooting condition. Post a pic and I or another should be able to tell you what you have. SW
