1894

Post by Mike Faires »

I recently purchased an 1894 in 32-20 24" round barrel. The serial number is 2449xx. Can anyone tell the date of manufacture. I also need a source for a period correct rear sight, this one has an unmarked tang site and a plug in the barrel dove tail. This is a round barrel model if that mkes a difference.

Should date to @1902, but only a check of factory records will tell for sure, since Marlin only recorded ship date.
I believe that Ballard Rifle Co. in Cody, Wy. has a rear sight that will work for your gun.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
