Hello, I have been lurking around for some time now reading with amazement and have definetely come to the conclusion that ya'll are the people that could answer the questions that I have.
I have looked for a "Long Tom" in a 12 guage and 10 guage for a long time, guns that are in mint condition. It has taken quite a bit of time to say the least. I have now found and purchased one of each.
I know that the 12 guage is a model 55 but I dont know what the 10 guage is. Maybe a model 56? Also what would the current value be on each gun? And lastely, would it be safe to shoot steel shot through these barrels?
Here are the serial #'s, any help would be greatly appreciated.
10 guage: 19741420 " The original goose gun"
12 guage: 69196136 " The original marlin goose gun"
Thank you in advance,
Kenneth

Thank you
Thank you for the clarification guys i appreciate it. Yes a I felt as though I got really lucky on both of the guns. I paid $125 for the 12 guage and $250 for the 10 guage, both mint. Two seperate people but neither used the guns but once or twice since they purchased the gun brand new. The only thing I need is some back up clips and if I ever need replacement parts. I know that the clips are renown for breaking the spring. Thank you again guys you were alot of help.
