Gun show

I went to the gun show at Orange County fair grounds today and actually found what I was looking for,a forearm complete with an action bar for my mod.49,however the bar doesn't work .It seems the little round nub on the end is to big to mesh with my bolt? It cost me 20.00 and I also found a hammer that hadn't been ''smoothed up'' for 15.00 .I'm still looking for a new style recoil block hook though.
I saw a a ''C'' grade in pristine condition except for some specks of rust from storage[after the owner died no one cleaned it for a few years]but it was in the$ 3000.00 range,Not my range!Shootrj2003

I'd try gun parts for the hook. I have had good luck getting parts from them. Some times you have to try more than once. The hook for a model 42 shoyld also fit the model 49 if I'm not mistaken. It has been a while since I had my model 42 apart. I remember that the model 49 takes the hook and block with the plunger style spring in the block. As I said I don't remember on the 42 but the hooks should be the same.

Thanks for the feedback Jim,Gunparts is right up the road from me and as of right now they don't have one so I'll just have to wait on it and feel lucky I got the forearm and hammer.
For originality the hammer is good but the reworked one is much smoother and easier to work ,also the sears are out of sync. on the new one which means I'd have to rework them to function properly,although the safety sear[secondary]engages the trigger will not reset if pulled and released during the lock -up thus firing as the gun locks up.When I got nothing better to do I'll work on that.
