Does anyone know if the recoil locking hook from a 42 or other models interchange with the 98 ?

The orignal 98 had no block in it and the later model 98 had a solid hook and block. The model 26 has a block and seperate hook and it will not interchange with the 98, The newer model blocks without leaf sprigs may interchange with older models except the 98.

The model 42 will not interchange with the 1898 because the hook protrudes through the bottom of the receiver as the release button just to the right of the trigger guard. The 1898 had the earlier type release like the Model 19. I would say that a model 19 hook would interchange.
