1894 Marlin Octagon .44 Mag, custom

Post by SOTDave »

1894 Marlin JM .44 Magnum Octagon barreled rifle. 1973 Pre-Crossbolt safety model. This one went to Doug Turnbull for case coloring and blueing. My gunsmith created an integrated top rail that accommodates the included 1" Kimber rings. It also works with Talley QD Rings (not included but readily available). Adjustable tang peep sight and a high gloss finish stock. Great shooter. Groups shown were fired with a 4X scope (not included). The JM stamp is not visible on the barrel so either it was polished off during the Turnbull work or it is under the forearm (I don't want to remove the forearm for fear of scratching the beautiful barrel blue). I contacted the Marlin Firearms Collectors Association supplying them the serial number and a Distinguished Expert with that organization responded "Rest assured, your Marlin Model 1894 was made by Marlin and NOT Remington. The JM mark may be under the forearm or Turnbull buffed it off. You are correct, it is a 1973 gun". If it is not as advertised I will refund your money as long as the rifle is returned in its' original condition. Shipping will add $65.00. $2,500.00 Email me for photos. dave.gilmore@sbcglobal.net Reasonable offers will be considered.
