Hey all: I recently bought a Model '94 carbine (Ser 4xxxxx) 38 WCF that looks incredible on the outside. But when I finally got around to looking at it, the carrier drops just after the forward-bolt/lever-upstroke action occurs. The gun inside looks great, so I am hoping it is just a carrier rocker spring. The gun is really nice, except she don't work. I can shoot her single shot, like an 870 Wingmaster, but I am looking for more of a "repeating fire" sort of a thing from it.
Any suggestions of what to do before I take it apart? Any suggestion of who might be a good person to send it to that won't bugger it, should I lose my nerve to take it apart?

It's a very simple action, like all old Marlin lever guns. No reason to not take it apart yourself, if you have basic mechanical skills.
The rocker/carrier is a pretty straight forward affair, and you can check it for tension once it's out. The rocker or lever could also be worn, but it's most likely the rocker or rocker spring.

Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
