Hi all,
I know nothing about guns, except when my father passed he left me this beautiful Marlin.
All I could find on the gun itself was M1024. If I’m reading charts right that means the manufacture year is 1955. But aside from that I know nothing else about it.
The only other thing to mention is all the wood on the rifle is engraved and very pretty.
I’m trying to get more info on it, including a rough value - when I put M1024 or 1024 into the Marlin site to check serial numbers I literally get no return info.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Not sure what I have.

Hgray100;
There should be more information stamped on the side of the barrel such as Model 39-A or Model 336 RC or A. The caliber should also be marked on the side of the barrel as well, and that will tell us what you have.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
