Marlin 1894 32-20 serial number lookup

Post by banks4491 »

Hello,
I'm new to Marlin collecting. I have acquired several in the last few months. I purchased an 1894 32-20, serial #434xxx today. Is there a sight or documentation I can download to date my rifles? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Banks4491;

The Marlin Firearms Collectors Association, Ltd. has copies of the old Marlin Factory Records, the same as the Cody Firearms Museum has.
We can look up any serial number for lever action rifles made between serial number 4,096 and 355,300, that ends in December of 1906. Guns made after that date, like yours, can only be estimated as to when they were made.
In your case, a gun with a 434,000 serial number range, can be estimated to have been made approximately late 1912 or early 1913.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.
