Long story short, USPS took the Wilkinson on a 3 week loop going back and forth between Ohio and Oregon 3 times each direction! But it was finally delivered to my door yesterday, much to my amazement and relief!
The Wilkinson powder measure was patented in 1877 and was the first US made adjustable powder measure ever offered in the USA. And it was featured in Marlin catalogs as the preferred measure for Marlin Ballard rifles back in the 1880's!
The measure is marked on the side for both grains of powder, and drams of shot, so a dual purpose measure to dispense either. The funnel or hopper on top had instructions for using these measures, and are always lost. A retired doctor in Montana was an avid tool collector and he had the funnels and labels copied and made up a small quantity as exact copies. The funnel on mine is one of his copies.
