Hello Folks.
I could use some help valuing and dating my rifle. If anyone has recommendations, I'd really appreciate the help. Reading through this site and another gentleman had a similar rifle.
Special Smokeless Steel on the side of octagon barrel
Marlin Safety on top of the receiver
30-30. immediately to the left of the receiver on the barrel
Marlin Fire-Arms CO. New-Haven CT U.S.A on top of the barrel
Patented Oct. 11 1887, April 2, 1889, August 1, 1893
D4705 marking on the underside of the receiver
Model 1893 behind the hammer
Does not appear blued. Wood and metal appear to be in original form and in great condition. Not sure how to attach photos of the rifle to this posting??
Any help would be appreciated.
Kelly

Kelly;
Your Marlin Model 1893 with the "D" serial number prefix and located up near the forearm and marked Model 1893 ( not Model '93 ) would have been made about 1919/1920.

Posting photos is about the only way to determine a value as condition of the original finish on the wood and metal really determines the overall value.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Thank you gunrunner. I'll go the route you pointed out and upload some pictures.

This link should connect to a few photos of the rifle.
Many Thanks,
