My First 45-70

Post by Jerome Howard »

I picked up this new Marlin 1895CB "Cowboy" 45-70 this afternoon. It was between the Guide Gun and the Cowboy, and the classic good looks of the Cowboy won out.

It's got a real smooth action, and a good trigger. It should be a lot of fun.

Welcome to the forum Jerome! Nice looking rifle! The longer octagon barrel will be much more comfortable to shoot too!

For me the longer sight radius is a plus as well. Welcome.

I love those tall front sights. I am wanting to change the factory sights out on an old 336 I have to something like that. I am looking at the Marbles sporting sights to accomplish this.
