There is no screw on the left side of the action. I am thinking the barrel may have been replaced as even under a magnification no writings can be seen on the barrel. It does chamber 30-30 rounds just fine. The rifling is in good shape, clear and sharp. Not what I would expect from a blackpowder fir...

I picked up a lever action rifle and the only markings are "Marlin Safety " on top of the action. And a s/n of 106213 on the bottom by the hand guard. Chambered in 30/30. Thinking the gun may have been rebarreled as it has no markings at all. Any help would be appreciated!
