12ga, Marlin Model 90 and Ranger 103-10 with 30" Barrels
Were the 12 ga. Model 90 or Ranger 103-10 with 30" barrels ever made with 3" chambers?

Re: Ranger Over and Under 12ga Model 103-1
It is my understanding that MODEL 90 serial number records have been lost. I had a Ranger 103-1 with first generation forearm iron that did not extend to the top edge of the side of the frame (about a inch of forearm wood actually touched the frame). It did not have the stamped, matted rib on the to...

Re: Looking for info on an Ranger 20ga O/U
Thank you. By the way, I mis-typed 103.370 in my previous post. It should be 103.360.
I had a 16 ga. Sears JC Higgins 103.360 with a P-serial number (made in 1957).

Re: Looking for info on an Ranger 20ga O/U
Another reference is Brophy’s book, “Marlin Firearms a History of the Guns and the Company that Made Them,” published by Stackpole Books in 1989. Brophy devoted 8 pages to the Marlin Model 90. You can sometimes find it for sale on the internet. You might be able to borrow a copy through interlibrary...

Re: Model 90 Combination O/U
Most of the information previously posted about the Marlin Model 90 Combos is correct except for one important detail. The Blue Book is WRONG about open and closed barrels. According to Brophy in his book about Marlin Firearms published in 1989 by Stackpole Books, Model 90’s made prior to 1949 have ...

Re: Marlin model 90 problem
Sparky, Since you have a 90 double trigger, maybe you can solve a mystery for me. I just inherited one and I have no idea which trigger fires which barrel. Can you clue me in? (Mine is 20 ga) Thanks / Markster The front trigger fires the bottom barrel, back trigger fires the top barrel (typically t...

Re: MARLIN MODEL 16 ENGRAVED SHOTGUN
According to Brophy on pages 365-366 in his book, Marlin Firearms, A History of the Guns and the Company That Made Them , published in 1989 by Stackpole Books, the Model 16 was available in 16 ga only and was chambered for 2-3/4" shells. It was the first 16 ga shotgun Marlin manufactured and wa...

The P-serial number indicates the receiver was made in 1957. It would be helpful if you could post pictures of both barrels and indicate what writing is stamped on the barrels.

Susie, one more comment. You may have gotten more responses if you had posted your question on the this web site's Shotgun Forum. I check it several times a week but almost never check the General Questions and Answers Forum.

Re: model 90 o/u serial P1438
Susie, Nothing wrong with your first post. The P-serial number indicates your Model 90 was made in 1957. Value depends on its condition. Does it have 26 or 28" barrels? Double triggers or a single trigger. Photos would help too. I suggest you also post your question on the 16ga.com web site. Th...
